Epic Games 執行長 Tim Sweeney 近日在 X 平台表示，《要塞英雄（Fortnite）》預計下週將重返美國 iOS App Store。該遊戲自 2020 年 8 月因違反 App Store 條款遭 Apple 下架，至今已經過 4 年 4 個月又 17 天。
事件起因為 Epic 在《要塞英雄》中導入自家支付系統，繞過 Apple 的 30% 抽成，引爆雙方訴訟戰。雖然 2021 年法院裁定結果偏向 Apple，但近期最新判決則禁止 Apple 向 App Store 以外完成的交易抽佣，被視為 Epic 的一大勝利。
Sweeney 表示，Epic 已向 Apple 提出和解方案：若蘋果同意將「免除蘋果稅」與「開放第三方支付」的判決框架拓展至全球，Epic 將全面恢復上架《要塞英雄》，並終止所有現行與未來相關訴訟。他強調：「蘋果稅 Game Over 了。」

目前《要塞英雄》已透過 Epic 自家應用商店在歐盟地區重新上架 iOS，惟該商店尚未於美國推出。針對 Sweeney 的公開提案，Apple 截至目前尚無回應。
